The defending champions Barcelona proved to be too much for challengers AC Milan in the quarter-finals this year and crashed out with a 3-1 defeat at Camp Nou making it a total 3-1 defeat on aggregate.
Barcelona dominated most of the match, but neededtwo penalties to win it. I can understand one of the penalties, but not both. It was a bad call that has become Barcelona classic style to have referees on their side. Pretty much more or less every time you face Barcelona – be prepared to concede either numerous penalties or red cards – I’m amazed that there hasn’t been an investigation launched by the UEFA.
Without those two penalties it’d be 1-1 in Milan’s favor, and they’d be in the semi-finals now. Needless to say, I’m getting quite sick of Barcelona always winning the referee lottery over and over again.
What are your thoughts on the game? Do you feel that Barcelona might be getting a bit too many penalties compared to other teams?
