Ben Affleck stars and directs Argo, a thriller about Iran in the 1980:s and does so pretty well, although it might not be everybody’s cup of tea.

Argo focuses on the revolution of Iran when the people got tired of the dictator put in by the U.S. and is not by any means an action flick. It’s a two-hour thriller that goes from very tense to a little dull to very tense again towards the end. I can’t really go into any details without “spoiling” anything but this felt a tad like a mix of a documentary and a thriller which I guess is a good thing as authenticity is a positive quality.

There’s some humor thrown in here and there and the movie is interesting by all means, but like I said, I think most people won’t enjoy it as we’ve come to live in an action era thanks to all the superheroes and whatnot. But if you are looking for a serious thriller that might have been a tad dragged out with an interesting story about Iran, then Argo is a safe card.
