It’s no surprise, really. The PlayStation 4 is after all, $100 cheaper than the Xbox One and had the “better” E3 press conference, until Microsoft changed their policies five days later due to overwhelming criticism.
Now, GameStop reports that it has stopped taking orders for the PS4 as they don’t expect to be able to handle that much. There’s simply put too many and they don’t think they will meet demand.
Microsoft will most likely quickly lower the Xbox One price once they notice they are falling dramatically behind the PS4. I myself feel the Xbox One is more future-proof and will deliver the more superior experience, but a higher price point and that infamous conference has done damage no doubt and it will be interesting how Microsoft will respond.
