Best on iOS

October 28, 2012

My favorite app right now for my iOS devices is without a doubt the newly released Carmageddon.

I play this fantastic and entertaining game both on the the train on my iPhone and and in bed or the bathroom on my iPad as well. It’s that good. In fact, the only thing I am missing from it is multiplayer support. I sure hope there will be an update for including that or a sequel.

Carmageddon was a childhood title that I missed and always wanted to try and now that the remake was released for iOS devices, I did not hesitate. In fact, it is one the absolutely most superior car games that I have played along with Twisted Metal. Screw that traditional racing crap.

Be sure to pick it up at the App Store for only 1.99.

The most fun app I have ever tried on mobile devices.

A year without Steve Jobs

October 7, 2012

Two days ago it was the anniversary of Steve Jobs’ passing and many people feared what it would do to Apple in terms of quality and financial success.

One thing we can state right off the bat is that financially, it didn’t do much. Apple stock continues to rise and hit new records and Apple is richer than a lot of countries. So in that area, Jobs isn’t exactly missed.

But what about product quality? Jobs was known for his perfectionist style and rejected tons of ideas on constant basis. That’s something I respected about him. Also, he was an asshole that overworked people and demanded insane things. And that in the end was visible seen in the quality of Apple products.

Now, though, it has become apparent that Apple is slowing down in that department. Immediately after they re-launched their Apple TV design, a design that Steve Jobs hated. Then we had the Apple Maps failure that resulted in Apple publicly apologizing. Sure, the iPhone 4 had those antenna issues, as well, but I still feel that if we look at the iPhone 5 and the way other Apple products are rolling out such as iTunes, iPods etc, it’s slowing down in terms of innovation and new features. I mean, the iPhone 5 doesn’t have 4G support in many EU countries.

I guess it’s still a tad too early to tell how the products of Apple will change without Jobs. But the iPhone 5 jokes are brand new. The iPod jokes are brand new. So in a way, it has begun. I still love my iPhone 4S and iPad 3 and feel that those products are best in their category.

What do you think? Do you think Apple will start trembling down in a few years?

You know what really grinds my gears?

September 25, 2012

Android hipsters and overall Android users. They think that every iPhone user bought it blindly and would “buy anything Apple released even though it was crap” etc. That shit pisses me off beyond belief. They are sitting on a vastly inferior OS with vastly inferior hardware and act as if they are more consumer aware than everyone else. I have an iPhone simply because it’s the best smartphone out there. And those are facts. If we go to benchmark tests the iPhone 5 is the fastest smartphone available. If we go to screen quality tests – you guessed right: iPhone claims that prize again. And not only that – it has the broadest selection of quality apps such as games and utility apps.

So if you are one of those mongoloids from the deep mountains in Mongolia with your Android phone and love to bash Apple products because you can’t afford them or want to be a hipster, fuck you. That’s right.

Once again, the fastest and best smartphone on the market according to professional reviews.

iPhone 5 doesn’t impress

September 14, 2012

Apple announced their iPhone 5 two days ago and as you know I had high expectations for it, and while some of them were met, a lot of them were not, including the improved battery life and NFC features.

It’s slightly bigger with an 4″ screen and also faster. That’s pretty much it. I am disappointed also finding out that the LTE 4G network support might not be fully available in my country which means we might end up with a 3G version of it. Regardless whether or not that’ll be the case, it doesn’t suffice for me to buy it. I want more impressive features that are mindblowing like when the first iPhone came out. That wireless charging is one of those features.

What are your thoughts on the new iPhone 5? Sure, it’s better than the previous ones, making it the best iPhone yet, and that makes it the best smartphone in my eyes, but the news aren’t enough to tie me in to another two-year contract.

Wishlist for iPhone “5”

July 29, 2012

The new iPhone is expected to land around October this year and we’ve seen tons of leaks and unofficial confirmations from hardware partners of Apple that it will indeed be released around that time in a bigger and thinner version. Will I buy it? It depends. It has to meet all my criterias or I’m simply not interested. What are those criterias? Check ’em out:

  • 4G: If I can’t surf at over 70 mbit/s (Swedish 4G speed) I am not interested. Android has had numerous 4G phones for over a year now and Apple needs to join in.
  • NFC: This technology is the future of mobile payments and as well as sharing content over the phones. The Samsung Galaxy SIII does it brilliantly and I demand Apple to do it even better than Samsung.
  • Longer Battery: I want the new phone to have at least 2-3 hours longer battery life than the current 4S.
  • Multiple-core processor: self-explanatory.
  • Over 1 GB RAM.
  • Bigger screen
  • Thinner case

Those are my requirements/wishlist for the new iPhone this year. Should it not have them, well then, sorry Charlie, no sale.

I would not buy that phone.

iPhone 5?

February 27, 2012

Here’s a nice fan made request for iPhone 5. And I must say, it looks hotter than iPhone has ever looked before. In fact, if this turns out to be the final design, I’d buy it for sure.

What do you guys think about this Apple Mouse inspired iPhone 5?

Unlocked Iphone 4S available now?

October 16, 2011

Apparently a select few retailers are selling unlocked Iphone 4S already. That means that you can fly over the to United States and purchase your phone and bring it back to wherever your live. The availability of unlocked 4S phones was roughly a year earlier than the one of the regular Iphone 4. Progress? Indeed.

Available unlocked already.

Iphone 4S

October 5, 2011

Apple has unveiled their new Iphone, the Iphone 4S. It’s a new faster Iphone 4 with better camera, processor, antennas, and performance.

Some of the major updates actually are actually found in the in new Ios 5. Actually, more or less, all of them are. With new features such as talking directly to your Iphone and it responds. You can say “What’s the weather?” or “Do I need a raincoat?” and it will give you the answer. Fascinating stuff. Naturally it goes much deeper than this.

Also free text messages in form of iMessage will be released which is quite nice. I am very excited for Ios 5 which will make the world’s most superior phone even better. It comes out October 12. I’ll be downloading it like there’s no tomorrow for sure.

Apple becomes biggest company in the world

August 11, 2011

Apple has passed Exxon in the stock market and is now the world’s highest valued company in the world. Wow? Indeed. Well deserved? Nope.

Well, either way, whether I like the Mac OSX or not, I love my Iphone. And I guess congratulations are in order to Mr. Steve Jobs.

There’s nothing bigger than Apple now.¬†

Deathsmiles

July 24, 2011

Ladies and gentlemen, I have a new favorite Iphone game, Deathsmiles.

Fairly simple, whilst also challenging, this action-packed game with witches and demons is amazing fun while on the train or on the bus.

Deathsmiles is also available on the Xbox 360 as a full retail game but I have only tried the Iphone version. Be sure to check this game out if you own an Iphone.

Deathsmiles.
